Is There an End? by Alana Arnold
Logline: Aliens are kidnapped from their planet and are experimented on by humans. They escape and start taking over the world, and taking down humans along with it. An average family is on a mission to escape this horrible outbreak, but will they get to their destination safely?
Tagline: “You can’t run when they’re around every corner.”
Genre: Horror/ Sci-fi
Synopsis: The government kidnaps and experiments on creatures from other planets. The creatures break out of the facility and start taking over the world. An ordinary family,: Shane (Father), Vanessa (Daughter), Victoria (Mother), Gael (eldest son), and Luis (youngest son), hears the news and doesn’t know what their next move will be. They hear a radio station tell them there is a safe base that they can travel to where they will be fed and protected. The family now has a goal of where they need to go. They begin their journey across the country, but it doesn’t go as smoothly as they expected.
They run into multiple allies and villains. Throughout their journey they are constantly fighting creatures, and sometimes even humans that are also trying to survive just like them. They also take breaks from the main story to help their allies follow their paths through this apocalypse. Aside from the allies, the family themselves start having drama issues and start disagreeing with each other on more things than usual. This can cause them to hate one another and possibly decide not to help someone when they are in danger. After a ton of arguments, and a ton of villain fighting, they continue their path. They come to many near death experiences, but somehow always find a way to survive. They don’t go down without a fight.
By the end of the story, the family has finally reached their goal and are standing at the gate of the HQ. They call out and no one answers. They search around the building and find a way to climb the building and drop inside through a window. Once they get in they discover dead bodies scattered around the room, including soldiers. This lets them know that the military base had officially been destroyed by aliens. The family hears multiple creature sounds coming from outside and an alien appears from underground standing in front of Shane. The alien and Shane enter a fight scene and Shane is about to be killed. The wife’s wise words cause the alien to unite with them and form an alliance. Their new overall goal is to end the war between the aliens and humankind.
